WATER & THE ENVIRONMENT

Clean Water and Sanitation is our principal impact area. In accordance with the UN’s sustainable development goals in detaining a global water crisis, we have been working in the forefront to provide solutions that improve water quality and recycle water.

In 2020, we launched the Cleanearth 5inFive Water Campaign with our commitment to improve the quality of water in communities we work by starting and completing five initiatives over the next five years (5inFive).  Partnering with local communities and leaders who have identified a need and are committed to the social good, we will bring our expertise and technical capabilities to build sustainable and locally – effectively and efficiently – managed solutions.

Our Water Services unit provides services that protect water, the environment, and promotes better sanitation practices by:

  •  Treating Water (for commercial use or to become potable)
  •  Treatment and disposal of Wastewater
  • Creating wastewater recycle/reuse systems
  • Promoting environmentally friendly technologies

In 2021, the community of Kpedze-Sreme, led by their Chief and members of the Kpedze Water and Sanitation Committee approached Cleanearth Scientific to request a partnership to address the lack of access to potable water.

We conducted site visits to better understand the factors driving the water problem and test the current water sources.  After our due diligence and needs assessment, and in consultation with the local leaders, Cleanearth Scientific decided to partner with the Kpedze community to improve its quality of water.

This will be our pilot social investment under Cleanearth 5inFive Water Campaign: “Water4Kpedze
